Garancije

Ott System beds are built to last. We guarantee the quality of our manufacturing as well as the advice we provide during the process of buying. The number of possible adjustment on the bed even after it is bought guarantee that the bed will suit you. No matter what.

Sensationalist warranties

In order to attract customers, some companies use dubious methods.

X days for trial

Buy, buy, buy as soon as possible, click here, quickly, don’t think too much… 15, 30, 60 days of free trial, we exchange … Bla Bla Bla …
10 years warranty … buy as soon as possible.

STOP : let’s try to ask ourselves some questions.

First, if a mattress is returned to the seller after the trial period, it is either destroyed or repackaged and resold to the next customer.

  • Destroying a mattress made with noble materials such as natural latex, fine wool, GOTS certified cotton after a few days of existence, seems totally crazy. Our goal is not to fill garbage cans.
  • Reconditioning a mattress (loaded with smells and sweats) in order to resell it seems as crazy.

So what do they do ? In addition, the marginal cost of these returns is integrated in the selling price and it is you, the buyer, who pays for the inconsistent behavior of some others.

X years warranty

The businessman says: 10 years warranty brings us 16% more customers. This guarantee, shielded by small lines full of exclusions, has a marginal cost which is integrated directly into the selling price. It’s always a winner for the seller.

Another approach

The people of Ott System say: advise well, make it well, if fortune is not at the end of the road, at least we will do good along the way.

What we guarantee

Back on topic. Aside from the two-year general hardware warranty, we provide a five-year warranty on all latex.

The only wearing parts are: the latex rails of the slat system and the latex cores of the mattresses. If abnormal wear is observed, meaning a sag greater than normal, we will change the latex parts free of charge.

Trade in of old beds, slatted frames or mattresses

Apart from exception that will confirm the rule, since the beginning of 2017 we do not take back any used items. The development of bedbugs and other undesirables being in sharp increase, we avoid the crossing of new materials with the used ones at all cost.

The return of old mattress in our vehicles does not correspond to our idea of hygiene. The removal of bulky items is better organized by municipalities or associations.

Working and delivering a product with care also implies to accept a certain rigor.

To meditate : the letter from Vauban to Louvois in 1685

Already, in the 17th century, Sebastien Le Prestre de Vauban, engineer, appointed Marshal of France by Louis XIV, wrote to Francois Michel Tellier Louvois (minister of Louis XIV) on the ravages of always seeking cheaper.

Belle-Isle-en-Mer, 17 july 1685,

My Lord,

There are some remnants of construction works in recent years which are not finished and will never reach satisfactory completion, and all that, My Lord, due to the disorder resulting from the frequent discounts of which there are records in your financial accounts. For it is certain that all these broken contracts, promises not kept, and revision of adjudication only serve to attract towards you as Contractors all those desperate ones with no other place to turn, the untrustworthy, and the ignorant, and to scare away all those who have something valid to offer and who are capable of running an enterprise correctly.

I maintain, in addition, that they delay and increase considerably the final cost of the works which they carry out most badly, because these discounts and bargains that are so sought after by the free market are imaginary, especially so because it is the Contractor himself who also loses out, like a man who is drowning and who grabs at anything he can reach. This Contractor does not pay his suppliers from whom he took the materials; he pays badly the workers whom he engages, cheats all those he can, and can only find the worst ones because they are desperate and allow themselves to be paid more cheaply than others; he uses only the meanest of materials, quibbles about everything, and still cries for mercy against this and that.

This should be enough, My Lord, for you to see the imperfection of this conduct: and then to abandon it in the name of God, RESTORE GOOD FAITH; GIVE THE FAIR PRICE FOR THE WORKS TO BE CARRIED OUT AND DO NOT REFUSE AN HONEST WAGE TO A CONTRACTOR WHO PERFORMS HIS DUTY, THIS WILL ALWAYS BE THE BEST VALUE THAT YOU CAN EVER FIND.

I remain, My Lord, with all my heart, your very humble and very obedient servant,

Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban, Maréchal de France (Archives nationales de Paris)
